• Managing and motivating: It is very important that as a leader you are able to manage people, time, and other resources well. Develop a pleasing and likable personality so that other students listen and value your opinion. Motivate and inspire other students to achieve their goals – academic goals, winning a competition or any other goal.



• Taking initiative: Take initiative to help others and solve their problems. Help others in academics or any other problems personal or otherwise.In case of a conflict, try to mediate and solve. Whenever there is an opportunity to lead, avail that, and demonstrate your leadership skills.



• Communicating effectively: A good leader is one who is able to communicate his thoughts and ideas in a convincing manner, but at the same time he must also have active listening skills. So try to inculcate good speaking and listening skills.



• Making decisions: Leaders must have a vision and understanding of the situation. They play a key role in making decisions. To emerge a leader make sure that while making decisions, you must always acknowledge others’ view and opinion. The decisions made must not be imposing or dictatorial.



• Demonstrate team-building skills: Leaders try to build teams by unifying people. So to become a leader, make sure you help to build a positive environment and avoid any rifts.
